Our Facilities and Learning Resources

Outwood Academy Newbold boasts some excellent facilities that our Post 16 enjoys.

Academic Study Areas

Post 16 students have their own dedicated areas of the academy, but also make use of main school facilities i.e. subject-specific facilities, the drama studio,  science laboratories, and the art studio. A variety of specific Post 16 study areas support students’ academic excellence during the day. The dedicated Reading Room is where students can work in a silent environment and have access to computers. The Post 16 common room provides a more sociable working environment, and we also have a dedicated area of the library to support a quiet study with access to computers and A-Level resources. The librarians work with students in class groups, and on an individual basis to direct them towards the most appropriate resources for their individual academic and personal needs.

Blended Learning Facilities

Our Post 16 teachers and students have used GSuite to support students learning over the last few years. This enables homework submission and the monitoring of this to be easier for students, and staff. Staff will also make resources available through Google Classroom, as well as any extra revision aids or support they may need. This is a safe and convenient way for staff and students to communicate to support learning.

Other Facilities

We have a sports hall, fitness suite, and full size 3G all weather pitch. For the performers amongst you there are drama suites, music practice rooms and performance facilities. All classrooms are available for students’ use with permission from staff.
