Trips and Visits

To complement your studies and to provide memorable and rewarding opportunities we provide a comprehensive programme of study trips and visits as well as some special sixth form events for you to take part in.

  • Various theatre trips throughout the year (Drama and English)
  • Visit to Amazon Distribution Centre (Business)
  • Field trips in Geography in Y12 this is usually a day in the Peak District and in Y13 a week to the Blencathra Field Study Centre in the Lake District 
  • Kroto Schools Laboratory at Sheffield University (Chemistry)
  • Aztec Oils - to consider real life applications of Chemistry
  • Berlin (German)
  • Manchester Crown Court to take part in a mock trial students play specific roles such as judges, solicitors and barristers, witnesses (law)
  • Shrewsbury Prison to have a tour of the prison and consider what it would be like to work as an officer within a prison (law). 
  • Various University trips
  • International trip every two years
  • Various trips linked to Art/Photography to be an inspiration for our young artists and photographers
  • We also have a variety of employers who visit us throughout the year to ensure students get a well rounded experience of pathways available to them beyond Post 16.
